2018 GCS International Convention to Take Place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Nov. 10

 

The 2018 GCS International Convention will take place at Phnom Penh, Cambodia on November 10, 2018, together with the inauguration of the GCS Cambodia Chapter.

The 2018 GCS International Convention, which will be held at the Crystal Ballroom in Phnom Penh Hotel, will start at 5:30 p.m. and will conclude at 7 p.m., followed by dinner until 9 p.m.

The event will draw Chungwon Choue, president of GCS International and World Taekwondo (WT); Hang Chuon Naron, president of the Cambodian Taekwondo Federation and Minister of the Cambodia Education, Youth and Sport Ministry; and Kim In-seon, a member of the WT Council.

Also attending the annual event will be Huh Jong, vice president of GCS International; Shim Ho-myung, president of the GCS Korea Chapter; Datuk Lee Jin-bok, president of the GCS Malaysia Chapter; Han Seung-yeon, a member of the GCS International board of trustees, and Cho Nam-chul, president of the International Center for Korean Culture (ICKC) and standing director of the Asia Development Foundation (ADF).

The event will feature the inauguration of the GCS Cambodia Chapter, which will be jointly led by Robert Hwang and Kim Sethany; and a special session of delivering of development fund for the promotion of taekwondo and the Korean language in Cambodia by GCS President Choue to the president of the Cambodian Taekwondo Federation.

The development fund was raised by donation by the ICKC and proceeds from both the 2018 Jeju World Peace Walkathon on July 17, 2018 on Jeju Island, Korea and a charity demonstration by WT on Ilsan Beach in Ulsan, Korea on Aug. 16, 2018.

GCS International signed a 4-party memorandum of understanding with WT, ICKC and ADF at the WT headquarters on September 28, 2018 to help empower the powerless in developing countries through taekwondo.
