GCS International hosted an international forum titled “Peace and War” at the Underwood Hall of Saemunan Church in Seoul on September 21, commemorating the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations International Day of Peace.
The event brought together distinguished international guests, diplomats, experts, and peace advocates to reflect on the meaning of peace and discuss the challenges facing the international community in an era of continuing conflict and instability.
The commemorative ceremony began with an opening address by Dr. Chungwon Choue, President of GCS International, followed by a keynote speech delivered by H.E. Ban Ki-moon, the 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations.
The ceremony also featured congratulatory remarks by the Ambassador of Costa Rica to the Republic of Korea and a commemorative tribute by a former Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Paraguay.
The first part of the program continued with a special musical performance, including a vocal rendition of Mokryeonhwa and a piano performance, adding a meaningful and celebratory atmosphere to the occasion.
The second part of the event featured the main International Forum on “Peace and War.” Six distinguished panelists, together with the forum moderators, engaged in an in-depth discussion on the current state of global peace and security, the causes and consequences of conflict, and the international community’s responsibility to build a more peaceful and sustainable future.
