2024 GCS International Convention to Take Place in Kathmandu, Nepal on Nov. 8
The 2024 GCS International Convention will be held in Kathmandu, Nepal on November 8, 2024.
The annual GCS International Convention, which will take place at Hotle Himalaya in downtown Kathmandu in a hybrid format, is expected to draw over 100 persons from around the world.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and Nepal.
GCS International and World Taekwondo President Chungwon Choue will attend the annual event.
Also in attendance will be Prof. Suh Joo-hwan, president of CCS Korea; Lee Won-jong, secretary general of GCS Korea; and Seok-jae Kang, secretary general of GCS International.
Among the participants in the Nepal convention will be about 40 Koreans, including Lee Hyeong-taek and Kim Sang-jin, both board members of GCS International,
and an eight-member delegation of the International Center for Korean Culture (ICKC), headed by Park Eui-jin, president of the Finance Committee of the ICKC.
The annual convention is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. on November 8 at Hotel Himalaya and lasts about three hours, followed by a welcome dinner.
The convention will feature GCS activities report session, either in-person or online. There will be a delivery ceremony of Taekwondo development funds by the ICKC and GCS Korea to the Nepal Taekwondo Association.
GCS delegates are scheduled to visit the Swayambunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, in downtown Kathmandu on November 7, where a taekwondo demonstration will be performed in front of the GCS Peace Statue.
They will also attend the opening ceremony of the 4th Mt. Everest International Open Taekwondo Championships on November 9.
The delegates will have time to watch taekwondo competitions on the occasion of the 2024 GCS International Convention.
The Nepal Taekwondo Association organizes various taekwondo poomsae and kyorugi events between Nov. 8 and 13, including a GCS poomsae event on Nov. 9-10.
